Upside Down with your Heart
June 13th (1:00 - 4:00 PM) $75

Inversions both turn our world upside down literally and allow us to feel and see through a different lens by opening our subtle bodies. Inversions benefit the physiological system in a profound way, including our immune, digestive and endocrine systems. They provide an excellent warm up for back-bending and twisting. Inversions also quiet the nervous system and prepare the mind, body and heart for pranayama and meditation. A broad range of inversions will be introduced, including Sirsasana (headstand), Adho Mukha Vrkasana (handstand) and Pincha Mayurasana (forearm balance). Suzanne will provide modifications and teach introductory and restorative inversions for appropriate students.

Back Bending Delight
July 18th (1:00 - 4:00 PM) $75

Bank bends have been found to clinically aid in enhancing moods and overcoming depression. They help stretch and cleanse inner organs and strengthen the shoulders, legs and back, as well as counteract kyphosis. Back bends open the chest and heart andencourage us to open inwardly to the subtle body so that we can begin to open outwardly. Then we begin to cultivate a path of compassion and connection to others. Suzanne will introduce beginning to advanced postures, including Ustrasana (camel pose), Urdhva Dhanurasana (upward facing bow pose), and Natarajasana (kind dancer pose). She will provide modifications and teach introductory and restorative back bends for appropriate students.
